Vinnie Angelo

Vinnie Angelo has been a regular JKS Music percussion arranger since 2004, and has worked with John M. Meehan arrangements since 2001. Vinnie is a former percussion staff member for the World Champion "Concord Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps." During his five-year tenure with the organization (2002-2006), he served as a front ensemble instructor for the 'A' and 'C' corps, as well as the percussion caption head/arranger and program coordinator for the division II finalist 'B' corps.

Aside from his Blue Devils service, Vinnie has also arranged and/or instructed for such organizations as: The Yokohama Scouts Drum Corps (Yokohama, Japan), Soka Renaissance Vanguard JR. Drum Corps (Tokyo, Japan), The Freelancers Indoor Percussion Ensemble (Sacramento, CA), Amador Valley High School (Pleasanton, CA), Clayton Valley HS (Concord, CA), The San Francisco Renegades SR. Drum Corps (San Francisco, CA), Sierra Vista HS (Las Vegas, NV) and Lone Peak HS (Highland, UT).

As a performer, Vinnie is a regular in the San Francisco, Bay Area music scene. Such performances could be found at: local symphonies, musical orchestra pits (including over 20 different musicals), big bands, funk-rock and reggae bands, jazz quartets, and various churches. He has performed at such venues as: Disneyland Paris, the Concord Pavilion and Davies Symphony Hall.

After taking a break from teaching and arranging full time (after the 2006 season), Vinnie is currently judging for the Western Band Association (WBA), along with indoor percussion circuits in California including: CCGC/San Jose, CVGPC/Modesto, SJVCGPR/Fresno, PPAACC/Bakersfield, NCBA/Nor Cal-Nevada. Besides his judging responsibilities, Vinnie is also gigging full time in the Bay Area, along with studying Psychology, pursing a Masters Degree in Family Counseling.

Vinnie is an endorser and clinician for 'Thumper' Custom Drums, along with being an educational team member (and endorser) for Vic Firth Drum Sticks.
